Sail Training
Hurst Castle Sailing Club runs a programme of Training for members during the sailing season delivered by RYA Qualified Instructors. The training is provided for:-

Junior Members (Up to and including age 17)

Adult Members - Beginners

Adult Members - Refresher

Adult members – Starting Racing
The training involves some basic theory work, but concentrates mainly on practical on-the-water sailing instruction and activities using the club boats. Support boats are in place for all practical training sessions.
Support Boat Training
Hurst Castle Sailing Club has three support boats:-

Saracen – a 4.7metre RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) fitted with a 50hp outboard.

Jaffa 1 – a 4metre cathedral hull dory fitted with a 25hp outboard

Jaffa 2 – a 3.6metre cathedral hull dory fitted with a 20hp outboard
A programme of training is run by the club for members who volunteer to operate these Support Boats during club sail training, racing or pottering events. This training takes the form of a detailed introduction to preparing and operating the boats and practical on the water activities to practice dealing with incidence such as a capsized dinghy.
